uk question about carrying ladders?
If you want to put ladders on a roof rack how far at the front and back of the car are they allowed to stick over.
you need to use common sense really - if they stick backwards or forwards too far then you need to have something high visibility hanging off them so other road users are aware of the danger
personally i would have them extend to the front so you can keep an eye on them and be more vigilant
more chance of someone not paying attention and hitting them if they hang off the back and they must be secure.
i dont see how scaffolding lorries get away with having masses of scaff poles sticking miles off the back of the wagons - now they are dangerous!!
