Cleaner Wax Fiberglass
Spraying epoxy resin to create fiberglass mold?
I have a sculpture with an outer layer of epoxy surface coat resin. I waxed and buffed it 5 times, and sprayed PVA 5 times, letting each dry before the next. I then tried to use a HVLP spray gun with a 1.7 mm tip to spray epoxy surface coat for the mold, but even at high pressure, the epoxy was too think to go through the gun - I just got little spatters of it coming out. The epoxy is BP3042 from www.blehmplastics.com. Since that failed, I tried applying the resin with a fine brush, being extremely gentle. Even so, it still broke the PVA, and I had to scrap the process and clean everything up.
Anybody have any advice on how to get the epoxy resin on for the surface coat? I know I could use Polyurethane and thin it, but I'm working out of my garage, and the smell would be noxious to the neighbors, so I would like to stick with epoxy resin.
mix in a wheel barrow. poohs, snot, urine an if you can scrape in a bit of dandruff, that would benefit.
now... spread on the prepared surface before applying resin with a hand full of toilet paper,an ley dry.
i hope this is some help.
