What size motor HP outboard boat would fit in a 12-foot aluminum?

no peak in the bar to tell me what could be the biggest engine. is an unknown brand of the boat. I have a Yamaha 8 hp engine for a present and wondered if the power was too much for the ship. I get in trouble by the law since no ratings Max? It is also a v-hull

8HP is quite small. If you find that you will find that many small engines are rated at 9.9hp. That's because there is a 10HP limit many small boats. I've never seen a boat rated for less than 10HP maximum so you should be fine (except cheap inflatable boats)
