I think that you should be concentrating on the shallow areas along the drop offs. They usually come into the shallows at dusk – I get best action on topwater lures…
All day and all night at docks with a hook and a live worm. You don’t need any fancy equipment to catch big bass.
When the sun is about to go down or when it has just come up
Weeds all day with surface lures or live bait.
The fall feed is a time when bass begin to bulk up for the winter. Depending on where you live this can happen between early september til late october. a good rule of thumb is to keep checking the weather reports. if you get about get about 3 or more days where your temperatures have cooled down considerably then you may want to get out there. I usually look for a 10 degree or more drop that is constant for 4 or more days. also do not look for bass in the regular areas. I would fish muddy bottomed flats in no more than 4 feet of water. Thas has been extremely productive for me in fall tournaments
