What is the Best Lure to Use to Catch Largemouth Bass?
Matt S asked:
So i have been skunked the last couple times that i have gone out fishing, i have tried a couple different ponds with different rapalas, worms, and crank baits but nothin is really catching anything. I live in northern Colorado, also what are some good spots to fish at, i don't have a boat which is kind of a drag but ill do without. Any tips would really help me out because im goin out tonight and i don't want to get skunked again.

If I had that answer, I would be fishing!
Spinners-plugs-skirted spinners it depends on what they want and when they want it.
Try plastics like grubs or plastic crayfish. If you are going during the evening go with a darker color like black or dark blue.
Make sure you set the grub up so it is weedless and drag it across the rocks. The bass should be going into a spawning mode right now and they will not eat but they will attack anything going near their nest.
I have actually had very good luck with the banjo 006 minnow. I’m not gonna tell you that i caught a fish on my first cast and that i caught every fish in my lake twice. But it is a practical lure. It is $20 for like 100 of them at Bass Pro so if i were you stop by your nearest Bass Pro and pick some up. You won’t regret it, trust me.
Try a bass jig. A PB & J colored jig, with a pumpkin green crayfish trailer.
ive had great luck this year so far with the lipless crank called red eye shad… its 1/2 oz and its is magic i swear by it… its a little pricey at like 5 bucks at walmart so dont loose it but its great…. you are almost gauranteed a fish next time you go out.
I like rubber worms – fish them slower…it’s kind of early for Colorado so the water may be little cool for bass…
