What are Some Good Tips on Anchoring on an Island (beach)?

have a lot of small islands near me and want to go camping on them...what are some good pointers you can give me, i don't want to get stuck, or even worse, my boat drift away...i have a 17' boat, deep v-hull type, outboard...to be more specific, its a 1988 proline 17 cc. no docks, just docking on the beach...

Most important, as you near the shore line, drop a kedge anchor off of the stern. After a short distance, cinch the kedge line to set it. Then continue as close to shore as you feel safe, and deploy an anchor off the bow on the beach.
This arrangement will allow you to pull in the stern line while paying out the bow line to place the boat away from safely away from shore to prevent grounding, then give you the ability to haul in the stern anchor to pull the boat further from shore when you are ready to leave.
Yea the best thing to do is anchor your boat and leave plenty of slack line. When I do this, I actually swim down to where my anchor is on the bottom and make sure it is completely dug in. Make sure your anchor isn’t in a bunch of sea weed either because that won’t hold ya.
mmm or as we do in australia .do some double poxy on the front and just drive it up……anchors…..run it on the sand throw a hook out and bbq party and drink
